Appointments during COVID-19

During the current pandemic, we are not booking routine appointments.  If you need to see a Doctor please contact the surgery and a Doctor will call you back to discuss.  If they feel you need to be seen they will book an appointment for you.  When contacting the surgery please help us by telling the reception staff the reason for your call.  They can then direct you to the most appropriate clinician.


Please note: requests for increased quantities of repeat medication will be declined  

Please order your medication as usual to prevent additional pressure on our community pharmacies.

Please nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription to avoid coming to the surgery


Due to the current situation with Coronavirus we will not be having any walk in surgeries until further notice.

If you have a cough or a high temperature DO NOT come to the surgery.  Stay at home, self isolate for 7 days and visit for further advice.

Please help us to protect our staff and other patients during this period.

Clinics & Services

Contraceptive Services

All the doctors and the practice nurses provide full confidential advice on all aspects of family planning, including coil fitting and emergency contraception.

Maternity Care

Pre-conceptual advice, antenatal and postnatal clinics are held at Stoke Surgery by all the doctors and the midwife.

Child Development

The doctors and health visitors like to check that children are developing normally. Stoke Surgery sends appointments for regular checks and immunisations for pre-school children. 

Cervical Smears

All women aged between 20 and 65 should be checked every 3 to 5 years. Appointments with the Practice Nurse are automatically sent out when your next smear is due.


Women aged between 50 and 65 are advised to attend the Breast Screening Unit every three years for mammography to detect any abnormalities. Appointments are sent out by the Breast Unit at Derriford Hospital. 

Staying Healthy

Many health problems can be avoided by early detection and preventative action. Stoke Surgery offers a wide range of health promotion clinics and health screening for men and women.

Appointments can be made for the following clinics:

    • Asthma

    • Diabetes

    • Hypertension

    • Cardiovascular disease

    • Diet and exercise

    • Smoking cessation

    • HRT

    • Thyroid

Travel Advice & Immunisations

As well as routine vaccinations, Stoke Surgery offers general advice to people travelling abroad, details about malaria protection and immunisation for particular areas.

It may take up to eight weeks for a full course of vaccinations, so please contact us well before you are planning to go abroad.
